Flinders Island boasts endless sea, sky, sand and solitude. It is the largest of 52 remote islands in the Furneaux Group of Bass Strait, between Victoria and Tasmania in Southern Australia. It is among the most spectacular and unique holiday destinations in the world, with its abundant wildlife, pristine white sand beaches, crystal clear water, craggy mountains and rocky coastlines.

Lemana at Emita Beach is located in a sheltered spot on the beautiful west coast of Flinders Island, looking out over Marshall Bay to the peaks of Mount Killiecrankie. Just a few minutes stroll from the house through protected coastal reserve will take you down to Emita Beach, a tranquil bay perfect for swimming and beachcombing. Exploring on foot in either direction will reveal hidden sandy coves, rocky outcrops and fantastic beach and rock fishing spots. A few minutes drive west from Lemana towards Settlement Point will take you to yet more deserted beaches, including the picturesque Caves Beach and Lillies Bay, and to historic Wybalenna Chapel.

Emita is a 20-minute drive to the Island’s main township of Whitemark, where you can enjoy a meal at the local pub or stock up on provisions from the excellent locally-owned supermarket. Whitemark offers most amenities you will require on your holiday, including a great bakery and café, butcher and deli, general store, post office and bank agency.
